A five star affair and a right royale family

It was a dashing 21-year old prince that His Majesty first married. It was the present Queen Sibongile who walked down the aisle on that occasion.

King Zwelithini has subsequently tied the knot four more times.

His Majesty’s first marriage after being installed as king was to the present Queen Buhle Mathe.  Marriages to Queen Mantfombi of the Swazi Royal House and Queen Thandekila followed.  Ten years ago the king tied the knot for the fifth time when he exchanged nuptial vows with Queen Nompumelelo. 

With its liberal dose of colourful traditional rituals coupled with trappings of glamour, glitz and grandeur each spectacular wedding ceremony enthralled and excited both the Zulu nation as well as royal-watchers worldwide.
